in Mumias, Kenya, Principal Magistrate Evans Makori sentenced three men to death for violent robberies. Atanus Khaimba Bwakwea, 19, and Moses Litunya Osare, 23, allegedly raped a woman and robbed her house on December 9, 2009, in Ekero sub-location, Nabongo location, Mumias district. In a separate case, Shadrack Shuatani Omwaka, 24, allegedly robbed Naftali Wesonga Namamba with dangerous weapons on December 2, 2010, in Lureko sub location, Nabongo location in Mumias district.
