a Kuwait court handed down two more death sentences to an Egyptian man accused of abducting and raping 17 children, a legal source said. Jihad Al-Saadi, 27, was arrested in July, 2007. Authorities said he confessed to raping the 17 children in Hawalli, a residential district 12 km south of Kuwait City. The court, which has been trying the man on a case-by-case basis, had already issued six death sentences and a life term on Saadi. Two of the death sentences had already been confirmed by the appeals court. In September, 2007, he told the court his confession had been obtained under torture and denied all the charges against him.
