Lithuanian and Belarusian diplomats discussed bilateral and regional cooperation, issues of trade and transport, and development of the legal base at a meeting in Druskininkai, southern Lithuania.
During that meeting the Belarusian side informed [the meeting that] their parliament had started debating such issues as granting more powers to parliament, abolishing the death penalty and establishing the office of human rights ombudsman.
