Mahbub Hashem Jewel, 24, a nephew of Capt (retd) Kismat Hashem, a fugitive from the death sentence in the Bangabandhu murder Case, was sentenced to death for killing an engineer. The verdict was passed by the Additional District and Sessions Judge Shah-e-Alam Chowdhury after he was found guilty of killing PDB sub-assistant engineer Abdul Bari in 1997 whilst attempting to rob him.
