in Malaysia, the death sentence of 28 year old former motor mechanic Tan Yew Choy's was cancelled when he was acquitted of drug charges. On Jan 10, 2001, police raided his apartment and seized 40 plastic packets of cannabis and nine plastic packets of methamphetamine. . The Court of Appeal on March 26, 2008, affirmed the 2002 High Court ruling. However, due to a discrepancy in the weight of the drugs seized Federal Court judge Datuk Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin acquitted him.
