MAN GETS DEATH FOR MURDER, RAPE OF 9-YEAR-OLD

a local court, in India, sentenced a 30 year old man, identified as Bablu, to death for raping and murdering a 9-year-old girl. He was also fined Rs 10,000. The offence occurred on March 6, 2005, at Shafipur village, when Bablu was out on parole while serving a life term. He had been sentenced to life in prison by a sessions court for killing a 6-year-old in March 2003. The prosecution contended that Bablu was a “habitual criminal and harmful to society”, and the case should be included in the rarest of rare category.
