Miguel Flores, 31, of Hispanic origin, was put to death by lethal injection. He had been convicted of raping and murdering Angela Tyson, 20, white, on 28th June 1989. He was the 35th person to be executed in the State during the year, No 234 since the State resumed executions in 1974. He was the 75th to be put to death in the U.S. during the year and No 673 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
