Nguyen Van An was sentenced to death for murdering his boss in southern Vietnam. An, 21, was found guilty by a court in Tay Ninh province of beating and strangling to death his boss, Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, on May 15 before stealing her motorcycle. Huong had hired An to tend and protect her rambutan garden early in 2004. To retaliate Huong's shouting at him when he broke a rambutan branch, An attacked her with scissors and strangled her with a cord. He then threw her body into a well and used her motorbike to escape.
