On August 16, the Alexandria Criminal Court sentenced to death two men Ashraf Abdel Fattah (24), a graduate of a technical institute, and Sherif Mohamed Al Sakhawy (27) holder of a diploma in social work, who killed 12-year-old Samer Mohamed Hafez and his 10-year-old brother Omar at their home in Alexandria in July and stole money and jewels. The death sentence was passed by a unanimous agreement of the court's panel. The defendants' papers were referred to the Mufti who endorsed the sentence.
