On December 8, the Khatlon Regional Court sentenced Davlatali Husenov and J. Khojayev to death. Earlier investigations established that Husenov, who had a previous conviction, organized an armed criminal group in 1992. Khojayev carried out brutal and grisly murders, robbery and rape, while posing as a serviceman of the special battalion of the Popular Front of the Republic. According to the Information and Social Relations Centre, it was established that his gang was involved in the murder of 8 innocent residents of the Region.
