On July 28, two men were hanged in the desert kingdom. Othman Abdu Lawi, 49, from the Karak district was hanged for raping his 13-year-old niece twice in 1995. The girl's parents informed the authorities when they found that she was seven months' pregnant. The second man hanged was Mansour Subeih, 50, from the Swaqa district for killing a woman whom he had attempted to rape in 1997.
