On May 10, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of international affairs, Alfred Mubanda, received the Norwegian ambassador to Uganda, Arild Oyen, who expressed the same views on the execution of the 28 condemned prisoners as the other members of the European Union, who deplored the action taken. In response, Dr. Mubanda clarified that the death penalty is still in Uganda's statute books as punishment for capital offenses.
