One day before he was scheduled to die, Michael Moore received a reprieve from the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. In a brief order, the court agreed to put off Wednesday's lethal injection of Moore, 37, convicted of shooting and fatally stabbing a woman during a burglary of her home. In his appeal, Moore's attorneys challenged what they said was the validity of his conviction. Moore was arrested in the early morning hours of Feb. 26, 1994 at the conclusion of a police chase that reached speeds of 100 mph. When police apprehended him, he confessed to killing Christa Bentley, 35.
