Oriel Cecil Joiner, 50, white, was executed by lethal injection. Joiner had been convicted of assaulting and killing two white women on 17th December 1986, Carol Lynette Huckabee, 26, and Eva Marie DeForest, 29. He was the 29th person to be executed in the State during the year, no 224 since the State resumed executions in 1974. He was the 54th to be put to death in the U.S. during the year and No 652 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
