the Sindh High Court, Pakistan, commuted into life the death sentence handed down to three men by the anti-terrorism court (ATC) on December 15, 2003 for kidnapping a man for ransom. According to the ATC, Khalid Abbas, Nadeem, and Muhammad Ali, kidnapped Adnan Ali in September 2003. The three then demanded Rs 100,000 (1,250 EU) ransom from Adnan’s family but later agreed to release him for a reduced amount of Rs 30,000 (380 EU).
