a Division Bench of the Lahore High Court converted the death penalty of a man convicted of murder into life imprisonment and acquitted the other accused for lack of evidence.
Justices Mazhar Hussain Minhas and Mehmood Akhtar Khan commuted the death sentence of Mazhar and set aside the conviction of the co-accused Ilyas. The two men were sentenced for murdering Tanveer Hussain and Shahzad Hussain over a petty dispute at a cricket match in October 1998.
