the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi, Pakistan, handed down a double death sentence to a man for kidnapping an eight year old girl for ransom and later killing her in cold blood.

the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi, Pakistan, handed down a double death sentence to a man for kidnapping an eight year old girl for ransom and later killing her in cold blood. Tanveer Ahmed was found guilty of killing his niece Iqra from Orangi Town area on Feb 25, 2007. According to the prosecution, the accused kidnapped the girl and demanded Rs500,000 ransom for her release but on failure he killed the girl. Police found the headless body of the girl in Saddar area and her head in Mochko Karachi. The ATC headed by Judge Ghulam Ali A Samtio ordered attachment of accused’s property worth Rs.500,000 and imposed Rs500,000 as fine. The defendant was also directed to pay Rs1 million as compensation to the legal heirs of the victim.
