They were awarded the death penalty on six counts and fined Rs. 160,000 each by the Judge Muhammad Sharif of Special Court Multan on August 2, 1993. The High Court Multan Bench confirmed the death penalty of both convicts on July 23, 2001 against which their appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court on October 10, 2005.
