Parliamentarians stated in the 'Kievskiye Vedomosti' newspaper that they thought the parliamentary procedure rules and the constitution were violated during the ratification of the No 6 protocol, which abolished the death penalty in Ukraine. A group of six deputies including Volodymyr Alekseev presented their case to Boris Tarasiuk, Minister of Foreign Affairs stating that at the time of the vote on ratification of protocol six they were on a visit to Germany and yet someone had voted on their behalf. The six said they would bring the matter to the Constitutional Court.
