an unidentified man facing death in Qatar for murdering his friend had his sentence commuted to 10 years. The appeal court was hearing the case for a second time under a different panel of judges on the advice of the Supreme Court of Justice. The accused rammed the victim to death with his car after a drunken brawl over a woman during a party at a farm owned by the victim, on September 20, 2005, according to the charge-sheet. The appeal court said there was not enough evidence to prove that the accused wanted to kill the victim.
