a man sentenced to death for killing his wife and three children had his sentence commuted by the Delhi High Court in India. The court found Raj Kumar Khandelwal “did not murder his wife and daughters for any personal gain,” but rather out of “extreme financial hardship.” Justices Pradeep Nandrajog and Aruna Suresh sentenced him to life imprisonment and fined him Rs 20,000. Khandelwal was found guilty of poisoning and strangling his wife and three minor daughters on July 4, 2005.
