ROBBERY RESULTS IN DEATH PENALTY
Singapore national, Lim Seng, 36 and his Malaysian accomplice, Wang Hup Huat, 48, were sentenced to death in the Johor Baru High Court in Malaysia for the 2001 shooting of a passerby during a robbery.

Judge Datuk Ghazali Cha found Lim guilty of discharging a firearm and Wang of abetting him. The trial was held in 2005, however the pair had not been sentenced until now. The robbers had struck in Pontian, a district in south-west Johor. The two men had gone to the Eng Heng Huat medical hall and demanded RM10,000 ($4,500).
