Scot businessman Michael McCrae, 44, is wanted by authorities in Singapore after the bodies of his chauffeur and a mystery woman were found in a luxury car.
The Asian city state still has the death penalty for murder and in 1996 hanged Briton John Scripps. McCrae and his 22-year-old girlfriend, Audrey Ong, are being held in a Melbourne jail awaiting extradition to Singapore. The dead man was Kho Nai Guan, 46, a father of three who had been working as McCrae's driver. Kho's body was discovered crammed inside a wicker basket on the back seat of a car in the Orchard Towers Hotel multi-storey car park. He and the woman, who was found dead in the boot, had been strangled.
The wicker basket also contained the remnants of a romantic meal.
McCrae, originally from Scotland but now living in Yorkshire, flew out of Singapore to Australia on January 5.
