Senate Approves Death Penalty for Child Predators. 
The state senate has approved a bill that authorizes the death penalty for anyone convicted of raping or committing sexually battery against a child under the age of 12 at least twice.
District 41 Sen. Joey Fillingane is the principal sponsor of the legislation. Now that the bill has cleared the senate, the legislation goes to the house of representatives for debate.
