Senator Barbers, chairman of the Senate committee on public order and illegal drugs filed Senate Bill 2374 prescribing that death by firing squad shall be carried out in public as a means of executing drug traffickers, manufacturers, pushers and the like. The senator said lethal injection in terms of impact and as a deterrent factor is too mild a punishment for these vile criminals who make a lot of money by capitalizing on vulnerable people, particularly the youth.
