Senator Ersilia Salvato, vice-president of the Senate and President of the Senate Committee against the death penalty, asked the Governor of Missouri Bob Holden to pardon Antonio Richardson, a mentally impaired convict, sentenced to death for a double murder he committed in 1991, when he was only 16. His execution was scheduled for March 7 in spite of his mental handicap and the fact that he was a minor when he committed the crime.
