Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic said it is "conceivable" that former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic could be executed. In an interview with a local newspaper, Djindjic said that if the judicial authorities could find evidence of Milosevic's involvement in political murders and abductions then it was possible he would face the death penalty, despite his status. "One thing is clear: regardless of who he is, he will have to answer for his deeds. That is an important signal at the beginning of a new democratic chapter. This is not the time for being sentimental", the paper quoted Djindjic as saying.
