Serbis's parliament abolished the death penalty as part of a wider criminal law reform

Serbis's parliament abolished the death penalty as part of a wider criminal law reform. In future, crimes such as multiple or particularly gruesome or premeditated murder can be punished by a maximum prison term of 40 years. The Serbian republic parliament amended the law to bring it in line with international standards.
