Seven criminals convicted for murder and robbery were put to death in Beijing immediately following execution orders issued by the Beijing high court.
Among the executed was Cao Youren, 66, convicted of the May 2003 killing of a villager in rural Shunyi country following a dispute, Xinhua news agency reported.
Also executed were rural Beijing villagers Ma Zhigang, Zhang Zhenpeng and Zhu Xuewen, who were convicted of robbing a man of his motorcycle and killing him in November 1999 in the capital's Pinggu district, the report said.
Ma had a previous record of robbery and murdered the victim out of fear of being re-arrested, it said.
Also executed for robbery and murder were Wu Yanxia, a woman from central Hubei province, Du Qiang from Inner Mongolia and Chen Shaohua from central Henan province.
