Seven gangsters and their associates were executed...

Seven gangsters and their associates were executed for crimes including murder, kidnapping and running gambling and prostitution rings. Gang leader Lai Xundong and three of his cohorts were put to death shortly after their appeals were turned down by the Jilin province high court at a public rally in the northeastern city of Changchun. The seven were then transported to an execution ground and put to death by firing squad. Hundreds of people attended the rally.
