Seven people were sentenced to death and an equal number given life imprisonment by a sessions court in India for setting ablaze a bus which killed six persons in 1998 following a dispute over money. The Tuticorin district and sessions judge, Rathinaraj, also imposed a fine of Rs 969,000 on all the 14 accused stating that Rs 100,000 go to each of the victims' families.
