the Colombo High Court in Sri Lanka imposed the death sentence on two accused who were found guilty of killing a businessman and robbing of his vehicle and mobile phone. High Court judge W. A. T. Ratnayake convicted Thuan Tony Ramlan, alias Kamal Priyadharshana, and H. L. Lion Virajantha and also fined them Rs. 10,000 each. The two were indicted on three counts including murdering Makumburage Sujith Tissa Perera, stealing his vehicle and a mobile phone worth Rs. 40,000 at gun point. According to the indictment the accused committed the offences at Makumbura, Pannipitiya, on November 12, 2004. At the end of a four-year long trial, the accused were found guilty of the offences.
