St Lucia Prime Minister Dr Kenny Anthony made it clear that his administration would not hesitate to hang convicted murderers, as the tiny Caribbean island struggled to tame a rising homicide rate.

St Lucia Prime Minister Dr Kenny Anthony made it clear that his administration would not hesitate to hang convicted murderers, as the tiny Caribbean island struggled to tame a rising homicide rate.
"The law requires government to follow what the courts prescribe, and as you know the position of the Privy Council is to avoid the death penalty as much as it can on the facts of the case before it... but I want to make it very clear that once the courts have pronounced guilt then government will proceed with the stipulated punishment," he said.
