With Prime Minister Dr Kenny Anthony due to deliver his annual budget address in parliament on April 19, well-placed sources have hinted that the St Lucia government may seek to use the death penalty - which remains on the statute books but has not been carried out since 1994 when Vitalis Solomon went to the gallows -- as a means of deterring residents from getting involved in a life of crime.
