in Sudan, eight Darfur ‘rebels’ facing death penalties for terrorists attacks on Khartoum appealed against their convictions, a lawyer said. "We made one appeal for the eight people from the Khartoum court," Defence Lawyer Muez Hadra said. "The rest we will appeal in the coming two days," he added. Hadra also said they had petitioned Sudan’s highest Constitutional Court to stay the execution orders on the basis that the special courts formed to try them were not in accordance to Sudanese laws. Hadra said there is no evidence in the case against the eight rebels.
