TANZANIA: APPEAL COURT UPHOLDS MAN'S DEATH SENTENCE

the Tanzanian Court of Appeal upheld the death sentence against Hussein Bakari, alias Kadogoo, for the murder of his two-year-old daughter. It was alleged during the trial that on March 4, 2001, at Gonda Village in Ngerengere, Morogoro Region, Kadogoo murdered Dotto Hussein and secretly buried her in a shallow grave in his farm, just after his pregnant wife was rushed to a nearby dispensary for delivery. Dotto's body was exhumed three days later and a post-mortem showed she died from strangulation.
