He had confessed.
The punishment came about 90 minutes after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a last-ditch appeal from Bustamante's attorneys.
He becomes the 7th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Texas and the 454th overall since the state resumed capital punishment on December 7, 1982.
Bustamante becomes the 15th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1203rd overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
