Thailand's Supreme Court upheld the death sentence for a gynaecologist accused of murdering his wife. Wisut Boonkasensanti was found guilty of murdering Phassaporn and dismembering her body to conceal the crime in 2001. A videotape showed Wisut meeting his wife at a restaurant shortly before he reported her missing. Phassaporn appeared to be having difficultly walking, leading investigators to suspect that Wisut had drugged her. Police found human flesh and organs in Wisut’s building's cesspool that matched Phassaporn's DNA. On October 7, 2003, the Bangkok Criminal Court found him guilty of murdering his wife and sentenced him to death. The verdict was upheld by an Appeals Court on July 4, 2005.
