The 5th Criminal Bench of the Federal High Court in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, sentenced to death by firing squad Jemal Mustafa, a fighter of the Oromo Liberation Front. The court said Jemal, a resident of a locality called Daro Lebu in the then Harerge Province, was found guilty of killing six members of the same family in February 1992. It said the defendant murdered the victims after cutting to pieces the penis of the father and the breasts of the mother and their five daughters and forcing them to eat their own flesh. Jemal was also reported to have murdered a couple in a similar on the same day. The court had also found the defendant guilty of killing another couple after inflicting heavy physical and moral injuries to them, the court said.
