The Christian-Democratic Movement (KDH) proposed an initiative that would increase punishment for severe criminal offences, in order to stop the upward trend in crime, brutality, and organised crime over the past decade. The KDH did not support the reintroduction of the death penalty, but it proposed to include a life imprisonment sentence without parole into the revised Criminal Code.
