The conviction and death sentence of Thomas Frank Cisco, convicted of killing 3 people in a robbery in 1997, were thrown out by the state Supreme Court. The court found that Cisco's court-appointed attorney appears to have represented both the accused and his accuser at the same time. In a 6-1 decision, the court questioned whether Cisco fully understood what he was doing when he waived his Sixth Amendment right to conflict-free counsel. Cisco was convicted in 2000 of first-degree murder and sentenced to death for his part in the triple murder at KK's Corner store. The victims - Marty LeBouef, 21, Stacy Reeves, 24, and Reeves' baby sitter, Nicole Guidry, 14 - were found shot to death in a walk-in cooler after the robbery.
