The Ethiopian Federal High Court in Addis Ababa sentenced Maj Tsehaye Woldeselase to death by firing squad after convicting him of killing Ethiopia's former Security, Immigration and Refugee Affairs General Manager Kinfe Gebremedhin.
Woldeselase was found guilty of shooting Kinfe while he was presiding over a meeting of senior defence officers in May 2001.
