The former Deputy Director of the Fisheries Department, Anwar Kenneth was sentenced to death for blasphemy and fined an additional Rs 500,000

The former Deputy Director of the Fisheries Department, Anwar Kenneth was sentenced to death for blasphemy and fined an additional Rs 500,000. According to prosecution witnesses Kenneth had written them letters containing blasphemous remarks. The accused admitted to writing the letters and also stated that he had written similar letters to all the heads of Muslim Countries, the General Secretary of the UN and all the foreign ambassadors in Pakistan, stating also that they did not respond. Kenneth said that he would not appeal the verdict, because he was the son of Jesus Christ, and was on the right path. "I will come out of fire alive, even if I am thrown into the fire", he said.
