The Freedom Front (FF) called for the reinstallation of the death penalty, saying the killings of white farmers in SA are politically motivated and often triggered by irresponsible comments by politicians.
The party said there have been more than 1080 farm murders and 5000 attacks since 1994. A committee appointed by Police Commissioner Jackie Selebi to probe the motives for killings is expected to submit a final report later in 2001.
