The Haikou Intermediate People's Court in Hainan Province held a judgment pronouncement rally at the Haikou gymnasium. Lau Duxiang, Tang Junfeng, Xu Shaoping, Zhuang Jiyong, and Chen Xiaojie were found guilty of drug trafficking, sentenced to death, and executed. Another 19 criminals, who had seriously endangered the social order, were either sentenced to death, sentenced to life in prison, or received set prison terms.
The Sanya Intermediate People's Court, also in Hainan Province, pronounced public sentences on a number of criminals; seven, who had committed serious crimes, were executed. According to one source, during June 25 and 26, various levels of courts across Hainan, pronounced sentences on 307 people who were involved in 182 different cases. Of the 307 judged, 95 people were involved in drug-related crimes.
