The High Court sentenced 38-year-old Syed Adnan Syed Abdullah of Rompin to death after finding him guilty of murdering a night club guest relations officer

The High Court sentenced 38-year-old Syed Adnan Syed Abdullah of Rompin to death after finding him guilty of murdering a night club guest relations officer. He was found guilty of murdering Kamriah Ismail, 39, from Bachok, Kelantan, between 7.37pm and 10pm on Jan 27, 1997 at the Kampung Bentan rubbish dump in Kuala Pahang, Pekan. He was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
