The Inkatha Freedom Party called on government to bring back the death penalty following the death of one of its Soweto branch leaders over the weekend.
Gauteng IFP spokesman Dlangezwa Mvelase said Sipho Gabela, 49, who was leader of the Mzimhlope branch in Soweto was shot dead by two gunmen at Zone 11 hostel.
He called on police to quickly arrest the culprits and the government to protect the country's citizens.
