The Ministry of Justice asked the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) to give it details of allegations of corruption in Zimbabwe's justice delivery system. The ministry's permanent secretary, Augustine Chikumira, said: "I kindly request details of cases which you cited to the Financial Gazette as examples of cases in which people had been judicially murdered as a result of miscarriages of justice and cases where persons were sentenced to death following unfair or rigged trials".
