The Ministry of National Defence (MND) denied that it had ever disclosed any of its intelligence sources in its intelligence reports. The ministry was responding to a report that a statement issued by Taiwan's Defence Ministry four years ago had led to the execution of three mainland Chinese people who were part of a crucial Taiwan spy network in mainland China. The `Washington Post' reported that Major General Liu Liankun, his unnamed mistress, and Senior Colonel Shao Zhengzhong were executed in mainland China on August 15, 1999(correggere trad italinao) on charges of spying for Taiwan.
