The Miss World organisers asked Nigeria for an assurance that a woman sentenced to death by stoning for having sex outside marriage will be spared.Contest president Julia Morley acted after beauty queens threatened to boycott this year's pageant, which is due to be held in the Nigerian capital Abuja on November 30, in protest at the sentence.Referring to an Islamic court's sentence on Amina Lawal, Morley said in a statement: 'We are appalled that such an action might take place.'.
